Ruth Spiro is the author of the Baby Loves Science series, published by Charlesbridge. I like this book series... But I felt like this one was a bit “preachy.” The others in the series are great. We own them all.

Love that such subjects are being introduced to children early. Some adults have never gotten any basic knowledge or introduction to such topics before adulthood, so these are a great start. My child loves the colors. Soon he will understand what’s going in inside.

5 yo Lego fan (regular not duplo) loves this book though I don’t tell him the word baby is used .

Super fun book for my little one to read with her structural engineer dad (explanatory enough that non-engineer mom gets it too). Pictures are really cute and bright. This is such a fun series!

Oh my god, just received this yesterday off our registry, it's AMAZING!The book starts off with basic principles - demonstrating different types of architectural structures via plastic blocks and comparing them to famous real-world buildings. It then moves on to an explanation of foundations and force balances before finally wrapping all of your newly-gained knowledge into a real-world example utilizing the three little pigs and the big bad wolf.Just look at this picture and try not to buy this, you won't be able to.

This book has straight-forward explanations and fantastic illustrations. As a practicing structural engineer, this should be considered required reading for all college level prospective structural engineers. It breaks it down so anyone can understand the engineering principles, even babies and freshman.

There are a LOT of books in this style - Advanced Discipline for Babies, or ABCs of Academic Subject. Baby Loves Structural Engineering and Baby Loves Coding are two that my daughter actually LIKES. They are written about the subject in a way that a baby -- well, a toddler anyway -- can actually relate to. Structural engineering can be written about as building with blocks, which my daughter already loves. Electromagnetism or Nuclear Physics? Less so.Which is to say, this book is one of the good ones. Also a high quality board book printing, which is a format I always appreciate.
