About the Author

Tania Millen is an avid outdoors person from Terrace, British Columbia. She has ridden horses for over thirty years in Canada, the USA and England, has competed at a national level and was a groom for a member of the Canadian Equestrian Three Day Event Team. Since 2010, Tania has ridden over three thousand kilometres of wilderness trails. Her first book, Rockin' Whitewater: A Guide to Paddling in Northwest British Columbia, was published by Creekstone Press in 2012.

Superb collection of pack trips in BC and Alberta with some great how-to suggestions as well. The kind of book you can pick up, read, maybe take a course to get your skills up, then hit the trail. It's all here, and Millen makes the trips accessible to any level rider. Even if you never think you'll go on a trip - buy this book. The pictures alone are worth the price.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is a good mix of practicality, geography and story-telling. Although I have not done any horse pack trips‎, I found the background of the author's trips to be very interesting. Some of the areas I have hiked into, and others I would like to get to someday, so I could easily relate to the content. The book is well laid-out and easy to access. The research is thorough. All in all, I recommend it to anyone with an interest in outdoor trips in BC.

for anyone interested in learning, reviewing or just good reading about safe trail riding and packing......this is the book to have.I am an experienced recreational packer and have found a few good tips and new places to ride!

Beautiful pictures and fantastic tips, even for the experienced hiker and rider. Definitely worth the read!
