From page one this book wraps it’s pages around you not letting go. Everybody knows a Tasha, Aqua, Pepper, or a Tru. This relatable true life story for a lot of people we may know and don’t even realize it. It shows that just by looking on the outside you never know what someone is truly dealing with in there lives especially on the inside. This book can’t help but make you feel for her. And the people in her life. It makes you want to just reach through the book and hug her and say everything will be alright. It pulls you into this raw gritty drama leaving you emotional until the end. Phenomenal book.
This is my very first time reading a book by this author. This book really hit me. I’ve read ALOT of books, but this one right there was probably one of the realest books I’ve read in a very long time. The way Tru and Pepper stepped up..the fact that QUA still stuck by her side no matter what..Tasha trying to hold it all together while slowly breaking down..man I had chills the entire time I read this. This shit hit home. I know a few people who have been/going through these exact situations til this very day. Man I had to sit and pray after I finished this one. No lie. I can not wait to read more of her work.
From the moment I read the first page I was pulled in and started to go through the motions with the characters. I felt so bad for Tasha and what she endured as a teen parent. Being one my self and going through postpartum and not really having anyone to confide in that really hit home for me. I applaud pepper and tru who stood up to adopt lyric and I happy how she has grown into a better individual. I was all teared up when qua surprised his daughter at her graduation. Don’t want to give much away but this book is a page turner. This is my first time reading a book by this author and I can assure you. This book will be added to my collection!
I've never shed so many years while reading a book. This story takes you through so much emotions. This is my first read by S. Yvonne and I swear this is a five star banger. To all the Tasha's of the world be strong and hang in there. I never lived in the projects nor have I had to care for myself as a child, but I am friends with people who did. Life is good if you believe. Great job!
Normally I only leave stars but with this book I had to write... You are an excellent writer.. I won't give the story away but you touched my heart.. I suffered with Tasha bcuz it's real...😢😢😢😢😢
At 1st I was like mmmm..what did I purchase. But I am so glad I did (lol). It was good read & I love that the story was told with 1 book. I done cried my eyelashes off (lol)....oh yeah, did I mention I read this at work...no calls or anything got processed today. Nice story. It really makes you think about "real life problems"...not that made up facebook drama.
This book was so emotional! Poor Tasha, she went through it since child hood. 😢😢😢 I almost cried as I was ready it. This is my first read by this author, and she did not disappoint with this one. It’s good to have friends who will always be there no matter what, and that’s how Tasha and her best friend were
I wanna say Thank you the readers group that recommended this book ,I truly wished it wasn't a standalone cause it was so good ,but very emotional i couldn't stop crying cause this book touched so much of everyone's life even part of mine ,my heart went out to Tasha from the beginning till she took her life ,I cried harder cause she left her batgirl behind cause she felt like she had Nobody left and that's real... I not only enjoyed reading this book i appreciated reading it and I'm gonna recommended it to be a great read ...Thank you Yvonne for this great book continue releasing great reads and I'm continue supporting ....
